April 12, 2024Cami de Ronda, also known as GR92, is a long-distance hiking trail along the Catalan coast. The trail winds for 280 kilometres through picturesque villages, past rocky cliffs, idyllic coves and hidden beaches. The GR92 is perfect for hikers of all levels, with stages ranging from 5 to 25 kilometres.
Route description
The GR92 starts in Portbou on the French border and its end point is the bridge of Olivar, near the border of Catalonia and the province of Valencia.
The route is well-signposted with red and white markings. The trail takes you over rocky paths, sandy beaches, pine forests and past idyllic coves. Along the way, you will enjoy panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea, charming villages and historical sights.
Stages
The stages of the GR92 vary in length and difficulty. Choose stages that suit your fitness and experience level. There are stages for beginners, advanced hikers and everything in between. Of course, there is no obligation to walk entire stages. Even if you decide to walk along the coast to the next town or village, you will pass beautiful places.

Spring and autumn are the best periods, both in terms of temperature and crowds and cost of accommodation
Packing list: Bring sturdy walking shoes, a backpack, sunscreen and a first aid kit. Don't forget your camera to capture moments along these beautiful routes and bring swimwear, if you would like to swim at a bay.
Food & drink: Bring plenty of water, enjoy local specialities such as paella, tapas and fresh fish along the route
Safety: Be careful on rock faces and near precipices.
