My experience
On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, when it was between 15 and 20 degrees - perfect hiking weather - I did this hike.
Arriving in Calella de Palafrugell, I started to walk slowly along the coast looking for special places. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to park my car for free at the "Aparcament de pagament", despite the confusing name suggesting paid parking. However, the sign at the entrance clarified that this was only from June 15 to September 15. This parking lot is a 1 minute walk from the beach.
From the parking lot I walked to the beach Platja del Port Pelegrí, where I set up my drone and took some nice pictures. I then continued my walk north, stopping briefly at Platja de les Barques. After a short walk through the streets of Calella I reached Platja Canadell. From there I followed the path from Cami de Ronda to Llafranc, a distance of about 1 kilometer.
Upon arriving in Llafranc, I descended to Platja de Llafranc and enjoyed a delicious lunch at La Croissanteria de Llafranc. During my break, I explored what else there was to see in Llafranc and discovered the Far de Sant Sebastià. This lighthouse on the small 156-meter mountain peak I decided to climb, and after about 40 minutes I reached the top. The breathtaking view of the Costa Brava, with the Pyrenees in the distance, was truly impressive.
As I continued walking from the Far de Sant Sebastià, I came across the Poblat Ibèric de Sant Sebastià de la Guarda, an Iberian archaeological site dating from the 6th and 1st centuries BC.
Practical tips for the hike
Although you could even do this hike in flip-flops in summer, for the ascent to Far de Sant Sebastià it is advisable to wear sturdy shoes, given some of the steep parts of the route.
What I found most special during this route were the secluded beaches of Calella, the scenic path between Calella and Llafranc, and of course the breathtaking views from the Far de Sant Sebastià.
