Lloret de Mar: Lively place with unforgettable activities
March 19, 2024Why should I buy an ExploraMap?
March 26, 2024Between the rocks of Lloret de Mar hides a gem with wonderful views. Cala Banys is the perfect bay to read a book, snorkel or sip a cocktail with breathtaking views.
Because, in my opinion, the promenade and the centre of Lloret de Mar are too busy, I like to walk a little further and end up in a quiet bay with beautiful surroundings. Here you can hear the whistling birds and the sound of the Mediterranean.
By now I have been to Lloret de Mar four times. Each time, I end up at Cala Banys. As a result, I can safely say that Cala Banys is my favourite location in Lloret de Mar.
Cami De Ronda
Cala Banys is a beautiful cove that you will pass, among other things, when you walk Cami de Ronda. In case you're wondering: ''What is Cami de Ronda?''
Cami de Ronda (also known as GR92) is a hiking trail that stretches along the entire coast of Catalonia. When you visit Cala Banys, after a few hundred metres (from the promenade to Cala Banys) you will soon get an idea of how special this route along the Catalan coast must be. When walking Cami de Ronda, Cala Banys is of course a fantastic place for a little stopover.

Why Cala Banys is my favourite spot in Lloret de Mar
Besides the beautiful nature and peaceful surroundings at Cala Banys. I like the fact that here I can enter the water carefree and easily leave my bag with wallet and phone by my towel. In fact, I can always keep an eye on my belongings when I enter the water here.
Every time I visited Cala Banys, it was relatively quiet. I sometimes get the idea that many people do not know that this beautiful bay is hidden behind the rocks of Lloret de Mar. In fact, it is much nicer and quieter here than the beach on Lloret de Mar's promenade.
This bay, Cala Banys, also has a nice cocktail bar called Cala Banys. At this cocktail bar, you can enjoy fantastic views with a sangria or cocktail in your hand. The cocktail bar is located slightly higher than the beach, giving you a breathtaking view over.
Tips when visiting Cala Banys
There is no sandy beach at this bay. You can only step or jump into the sea via the rocks here. These rocks can have sharp edges, so be careful when entering or leaving the water. Bring water shoes if necessary.
At the cocktail bar Cala Banys, prices are relatively high. Last summer, I paid €5 for a can of cola here. To avoid this, you can get food/drink at a supermarket in the centre and take it to the bay to save costs. Afterwards, of course, do take your rubbish back with you and throw it in a bin.
Conclusion why you should visit Cala Banys
Nestled among the rocks, Cala Banys offers clear waters, stunning views and a perfect atmosphere to relax. The perfect location for a drink with panoramic views. Do bear in mind the higher prices at the bar and watch out for the rocks when entering the water. In short, Cala Banys is a location you won't soon forget.
